Ahhhh, I can’t believe it’s already been six months, but at the same time I can’t believe it’s only been six months! It’s been quite an adventure already! 🙂 I loved putting this together and getting to relive our wedding day!
he whole thing was a labor of love and we’re so thankful to all our friends and family that helped make it such a beautiful day! We tackled so many DIY projects (I kinda refused to buy anything I thought I could DIY haha!) Everything from the invitation suite to the bridesmaids bouquets to the signage, decor, and cornhole boards were projects that made our day so special and personal! And family and friends made ALL our naked cakes and cookies – and they all turned out so perfect! My maid of honor did my hair (we’ve been friends since 7th grade, so I knew she knew exactly how I’d want it haha) and our friends and my middle sister performed a worship song during our ceremony. We loved that our day included so many people we loved! We’re so so so thankful for all the people that labored to make our day perfect. And for our amazingly talented photographer for capturing it so beautifully! You’re the best, Kari!
We had a neutral color scheme with just pops of mint (I couldn’t resist guys, it’s my favorite haha!) and simple florals and centerpieces. My bouquet weighed about 83, 000 pounds I think and had wild, California wheat that my maid of honor brought for me and a piece of lace from my mom’s wedding dress around it. It was so meaningful to carry around all day (even if my arm did feel like it was going to fall off mid-ceremony haha!) I still love the way the mismatched bridesmaid dresses turned out – so different and so pretty (just like all my lovely ladies :P) and we tied in the mismatched theme for the groomsmen by gifting them with mismatched tan ties. Also, if it was socially acceptable, I’d wear that wedding dress every day. I LOVED it. My mom and granny flew out just a few weeks after we got engaged to help me dress shop and I’ll always be grateful for that weekend! After three dress shops and about 20 different dresses we found this and I couldn’t have loved it more! It was the first of about 12 dresses I tried on at the last store and the other 11 just didn’t have a chance.
We had the most entertaining flower girl and ring bearer, most awesome best man and maid of honor speeches, and most loving friends and family to share it all with. I don’t think I stopped smiling the entire day 🙂
I’m feeling so blessed to be married to my favorite guy and very best friend. Ben, you’re my favorite. I like you and I love you 🙂
