The maid of honor and best man delivered the bride and groom’s gifts to each of them before the ceremony. As Andy opened his, he brushed away tears, laughed and said he didn’t plan to be crying before the wedding; in a separate room, Jess let a single, beautiful tear fall (seriously, this girl was the prettiest crier ever!) as she read a sweet love letter from her almost husband. And that set the tone for the entire day.
Jessica + Andy got married at the Barn at the Backwoods in Thornville, Ohio and had the most heartfelt day that perfectly portrayed just how in love with each other these two are – eager to start their family, dreaming of their future, and all the while living in the present and just so excited to be married. The two had planned to have an outdoor ceremony, but our lovely, spastic Ohio weather thought differently. The weather altered their plans, but you could sense that none of that mattered; they were just focused on getting to see and marry each other. After a beautiful ceremony, these two finally had a moment to themselves (ok, so I was there too haha), and despite the cold, the newlyweds soaked up every minute of it. These two are so undeniably in love with each other. As soon as they’re together, they’re smiling, natural, sneaking cheek kisses, and it’s so obvious that together is their favorite place to be. They danced their first dance to “Overwhelmed” by Tim McMorris (you should probably go listen to it because it’s the stinkin’ sweetest thing ever) and the lyrics seemed to just be a perfect representation of their relationship.
Mr. + Mrs. Schmitz, I loved being a part of your day and I hope you enjoy reliving every moment of it as much as I did! 🙂
And in that moment I could see all of the things that we would be
You were the girl I was waiting for, that I would ask to marry me
