Marissa + Chris | A High Line Car House Wedding
Marissa & Chris are hands-down one of the sweetest, most down to earth couples ever. Despite random downpours and having to get married before their ceremony (yes… that happened) they remained so easy going and joyful all day.
When I arrived at the Westin for Marissa’s getting ready pictures, she calmly informed me that there had already been some “drama” for the day. Their officiant couldn’t make it, last minute, due to family illness – which left Marissa + Chris to go down to the courthouse to legally get married the morning of their wedding day! That’s a fun story I’m sure they’ll be telling for years! 🙂
Marissa & Chris shared a sweet first look at Frank Fetch Park in German Village – and when I say sweet, I mean it. It’s so evident how much Chris adores Marissa. He twirled her around and said “DANG girl, I like this dress! You should wear this outfit more often!” It was such a fun and sweet moment to witness! We wandered around the little streets in German Village for portraits and made it through all of our bride and groom shots before the skies opened and poured for about three minutes. We then took the bridal party out and got caught in another quick, but heavy storm! We took cover under a tree and finished up quickly. (They got a little bit of every type of weather in their portraits 😉 )
After portraits, everyone headed to High Line Car House, where Marissa’s dad performed their ceremony. You wouldn’t have known he wasn’t planning on doing this all along – he was fantastic! It was such a heartfelt ceremony and I’m pretty sure he should consider officiating for a living 😉 Chris’ grandfather prayed before dinner and asked everyone to join hands with the people at their tables as everyone became one during prayer time. It was such a sweet way to join two families and friends and ended with a resounding amen!
Marissa & her father shared a sweet father-daughter dance and Chris & his mother danced to a fun little medly for their mother-son dance. Marissa & Chris concluded the special dances with their first dance to “Stand by Me” and then invited all their friends and family to join them on the dance floor. The dance floor was a party from the very first song and I’m sure it was still going strong long after we left!
Marissa & Chris, thanks for inviting us to be a part of your big day! It was absolutely beautiful and we loved getting to work with you both! Hope your first couple weeks as husband and wife has been a dream! 🙂
