Lifestyle family sessions are hands down my favorite family sessions. They’re so carefree and fun – there’s no pressure to have a perfectly well-behaved, smile at the camera child which means less stressed mamas! They’re much more true to family life and dynamics and really document a family’s unique dynamic and lifestyle – what could be better than that?!
The Wright family is one of my dear, repeat family clients and I love them to death. This was our first session with their newest addition, baby Lyvia, and it was so fun to see how their family has grown and changed over the years. We did their session at their farmhouse and I loved how personal just that that made their photos! I felt like I was getting to preserve sweet moments for such a sweet family that will be looked at for generations to come. They’re building their own little legacy on that farm and I loved getting to photograph a little piece of it. I even shot a couple rolls of film during their session, which made the whole shoot feel that much more heirloom-y. Film is hard to explain, but I absolutely love it. The way it preserves colors and detail is so true to life and while I love digital, there’s a special quality to film that you just can’t match with digital no matter how long you sit in front of an editing program. It’s timeless, it’s gorgeous, and it makes time slow down just a little bit. Which felt like a nice little compliment to that slow, beautiful country life.
I’m taking on more family sessions this year and next, so if the idea of lifestyle session of your sweet crew makes your heart flutter, I’d love to talk to you! 🙂 Click contact at the top of the page and send me a little note about you and yours! <3
